Hiding Virgin Media, PS4 and router in media cabinet
Discussion
Hi chaps, would appreciate if you can provide some advice.
I'm looking to put up a floating media cabinet onto the wall and getting a TV hung onto the wall above it. The cables will be fed into the wall from the TV then into the back of the media cabinet. The TV will be connected to 3 devices: VM Tivo, PS4 and VM superhub. There are slight gaps round the edges of the cabinet so when the front door is shut, I doubt that it will create a water tight seal so air can still circulate.
For those who may have a similar set up, would the 3 devices generate enough heat that I would have to consider drilling some holes on the underside of the floating cabinet for extra ventilation?
I've see examples on YouTube that a fan can be installed for extra cooling but that seems a bit of an overkill.

I have my PS4 and Virgin Tivo in a cabinet below my telly. The cabinet was built to my spec so is completely backless, but I still need to open the front door (which is not well sealed at all) when using the PS4 or it starts to overheat. They're on separate shelves with sufficient space between them that the Tivo doesn't seem to affect the temperature of the PS4.
So, ventilate definitely. I doubt what you're proposing is going to be sufficient for the PS4 though. Considering how warm the PS4 gets, build a fan in
ETA: just noticed you're planning to put your Superhub in there too. Mine's not in the cabinet but still manages to get warm and the broadband goes flaky when it gets too hot, so I'd try to keep that separate if possible.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'll drill some extra holes at the bottom of the unit for ventilation just to be safe.
The inside of the cabinet has 3 compartments. As the PS4 generates a lot of heat, I'll keep this in my spare room which is currently hooked up to my 27" gaming monitor which TBH, I much prefer as playing games in front of a 4k 55" TV can be a bit much.
So it just leaves the VM SuperHub and Tivo box which I will keep in separate compartments.
