I recently test drove a Cerby which made an occasional single beep at random intervals. Same beep as indicators. Is this likely to be something to do with the indicators or an audible warning of some kind?
Dealer is looking into it but just wondered what it might be.
Thanks

Rev limiter?

Did you notice the change up light coming on (bottom of the rev counter)? Could have been a problem with this.

Neil.

MIL engine warning beep? The light should come on as well, although it could be busted and so you just get the beep.

deffo mil beep.
means something isnt right. If garage cant sort that out (without cutting the wire) then I'd be worried. Normally is someting simple eg temp sensor stuffed.

Thanks for the replies,
Not rev limiter happened more at 3 - 4000rpm and didn't notice limiter light coming on, but what is the limiter set at anyway? didn't notice MIL light being on other than at start up.
The service history shows it's had a couple of sensors changed including lamda's I presume the MIL would report problems with these?
From what you all say doesn't sound much to worry about.
Thanks again.

you are right it is PROBABLY nothing to worry about.
But it COULD be something needing attention eg overfuelling that is knackering cats.

Good point Gazzab, thanks. If it still does it when I pick it up I'll list it as a concern and potentially something they'll need to sort if is a genuine fault. But hopefully it will all be sorted.
Only 3 weeks to go but seems longer.
Cheers
David
