Apple has over $200 Billion in liquid cash available in its current account...

Mclaren is unfortunately a teeny-tiny little fish here.

Haha, they'll be sending out software updates to all the old cars, that'll cause the ecu to overload, and they'll only be able to do 56mph... Lol

If you think about it, it's not actually the road car part of the business that Apple want, it's the F1 side. They have seen what Redbull have done with a team, so they will do the same. Global branding.

The road car business is also good if they want to go head to head with Tesla.

They will replace iris with iIris !

Thinking about this, maybe it was Chinese whispers and the company they are talking with is actually Lotus. I agree I'd rather Apple kept their hands off McLaren but I suppose it is better than being bought by Ford/GM/VAG group. Or even worse Fiat/Chrysler.

That would be good news for McLaren but fantastic news for Lotus. If any marque deserves a massive injection of funds it's Lotus.

Yes exactly, if they'd invested it wisely over the years, then they could have out McLaren'd McLaren!

Yep, in many way McLaren remind me of Lotus, which I mean ( mostly! ) as a compliment. Meanwhile don't forget the first Tesla was based around the Elise, there's great potential up in Norfolk.
