Disco 4 - Insurance issues
Discussion
Hi all,
I placed a deposit on a 2016 Landmark this afternoon, sat down this evening with a celebratory glass of wine and then found that I was having issues getting an insurance quote.
It would appear that a large number of companies need it to have a tracker fitted (which I don't think it has as standard?). As an alternative they would offer me cover that didn't include theft... I declined their offer strangely...
Has anyone come across similar? We live in a low risk area of Sussex so this has caught me completely by surprise!
Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks,
Jon

Yes, we had a bit of this.
Bought the wife a '16 Landmark a couple of months ago, replacing X5. Admittedly, she has had a couple of prangs, but not all 'at fault'. Also rural Sussex, no business use.
Took the free LR insurance for a week and then had a shock when quotes were coming in at £1,400+. Existing insurer just flat refused to cover it.
Couldn't get it sorted prior to going out of the country and her indoors bought cover from AA whilst I was away, which was £800 ish but needed a box fitted to monitor driving - funnily enough that didn't really suit.
Ditched that and went to RAC for £570, no box, no tracker required.
The savings are being spent on the first glut of scratches she has put on it.
Excellent family motor. Infotainment not up to German standards but entirely acceptable.
