My 987 has the Sports exhaust system with the vacuum cylinders next to the Silencers . Are these cylinders available separately ? I am led to believe that they arnt but they are for the 997 which can be fitted with a little tinkering !
Porsche have told me they only come with a new silencer for the 987 , over £2k plus vat ...
Currently I have had them disconnected so the exhaust is on sports mode , it isnt a major issue but id like it back to how it should be.
Thanks

Not available separately from Porsche as far as I am aware.

Mine went wrong as well and I had a custom exhaust shop cut them out and replace them, but the valves are an odd size and are not available from many sources, I used cheap Chinese ones from eBay and they have already started getting jammed in quiet mode.

I believe decent quality valves can sourced from Capristo but they are very expensive.

The valves for the 997 are just under £80 each . Just wondering if anyone has fitted them on the 987.!

I believe that the 997 valves are a different diameter, happy to be proved wrong.

There is no way of removing the 987 valves without cutting the exhaust.

I presume you're talking about the vacuum actuators, not the butterfly valve itself.

The vacuum actuators are available from your Porsche centre. The 986 ones are about £66 each if I recall correctly (from OPC Leeds). I'm pretty sure that Design911 also sell the 997 ones, which I think are the same as the 987.

I bought some 981 valves and fettled them to fit the PSE on my 986. They have a thicker shaft, heatshield and slightly different stud placement though, so a bit of work was required.

Looked on here regarding my exhaust 987 cayman it’s flat and boring ... I’ve had some serious prices to alter this from 1.5k to 2.5k and all I seem to get when I ask will it be a switch in and off noise like I had on the 911 is “K” anybody know if it’s as simple (I say) to remove x pipes and fit a butterfly valve in ??????? Any idea who and can and location am in Scotland , thanks
