TwinT

You've got both a Griff and a Chimeara that need 500 style wheels have you?

Or are you just cross posting?

There is a wanted section in the classifieds....

Just a thought...

Good luck. Are you upgrading, or are the originals trashed?

Just checked your profile, do you work for TMS? I presume then the stack of s/h Griff wheels they had at Duxford were all 15"...

Definitely up to something. On the Griffith forum you say you have a Griffith. On the Chimaera forum you say you have a Chimaera.

Why does the trade have to raid its customers for parts, even worse tell porkies about it? When PHers combine their resources, most things become clear.

That's a bit underhand isn't it?

No cars in the profile either.

Care to comment on the TMS connection? Do you (personally) own a Griff or Chim? Or are you trying to source some wheels for a customer?

A certain TVR parts manager asked me if I knew where they could get 16" wheels for a Griff 500 that was off the road with a buckled wheel. He said that the factory don't have any and have not had for ages!

Something akin to as rare as rocking horse ....

I gave them a couple of numbers that I used for getting my 16" wheels. One of them was Douglas Valley.

Good luck.

Richard

Hey, Hey no need to bring out the big guns. Calm down everybody. Yes I do work for TMS and I'm trying to get some wheels for a customer but I was just doubling up on my chances of a reply posting on two different sections. The company who makes the original wheels no longer supply's the rear wheels but TVR still have a small stock of fronts left. My customer has trashed all four wheels. There is no cars in my profile yet as I din't have anything worthy enough to put there yet. I am trying to scource a UK spec Nissan 300ZX twin turbo if anyone knows of one going for under £6000.

You do say 'need wheels for MY griff, and MY Chim' - I think we'd have preferred it if you had declared your purpose up front, rather than pose as a private individual looking for parts for his own vehicle.

It is a worrying issue though. The last of the Griff 100's are not yet sold, but already parts are unobtainable. That's not very clever on the factory's part!

You'll notice that the last of the Special Edition Griffiths actually use different wheels (Oz cross-spokes) ....

Those wheels whilst nice make the car look a bit dated. I would have thought they would have fitted something a bit more modern. I guess they are using up their stock of old wheels.

My old Griff 400 had them fitted, they were a pain in the arse to keep clean.

I'd say all the dealers are on here in one form or another. If you need stuff, be straight about it, don't blag. Follow the rules - no cross posts for example and if you are finding something for your business, Ted is running one here too and has commercial advertising rates which are very reasonable.

I like to see everybody on here, just don't take the piss, it is apart from anything else not exactly good marketing is it

I don't believe it..I couldn't get a new set of Oz rims for my early Griff for love nor money, even the factory said that i'd have to upgrade to the new 5 spoke and the b******s were keeping them all to themselves!

Ha - just like the original prototype back in 1990! I like them, but wouldn't fancy cleaning them. Might have to consider those rubber brake dust protectors.

Hey I think everyone is being a bit harsh to me on here. I have only been using the internet for about a month and have had no training on it at all. I have tried my hrdest to learn all the way's of the 'net but there is a lot of differences between the sites that I am trying to get used to. Sorry if I offended anyone. Who is this "Ted", what does he do and how do I get in contact with him as I might well be advertising a few more bits and peices on here if that's OK with everyone!!!!!!

PetrolTed is the owner/operator of this site. He can be contacted by looking at his profile and clicking on the 'Email Me' icon. If he wishes to he will also tell you his real name, I will not do so in case he wishes to remain anonymous.
