Morning,

Well after 14 months of trouble free motoring, the Allroad has got its first airbag leak. I am looking for some advice on how to diagnose what bag is at fault.

Symptoms so far;

If I leave it on level 1 it will drop onto bump stops over night at the rear only. I left it in "Jack mode" but nothing dropped. It goes up and down the levels fine, so seems to me there is a small leak on one of the rear bags. Any thoughts?

I see you can get Arnott bags for 250-300 these days so not bad at all.

Thanks

Lewis

As with anything VAG plug it into Vagcom and see what errors you've got, that will likely tell you which one is borked.

Yes I may have to do that. It seems to he a very very slow leak , so manageable at the moment. Just don't want to.leave compressor working harder than normal for too long.

I phoned my garage and explained symptoms, the car is absolutely fine when left on level 2 or above. It only drops/leaks after 10-12 hours , I am in no doubt that there Weill be a leak. But at the moment I am holding off getting a bag replaced. Touchwood it gets through Xmas no probs and I will get it replaced after that.

from what it sounds like yes, i would say yes you have. The crease in the air bag might have failed, meaning at level 2 it is tight enough to be closed, whilst at 3 or 4 say, it is open.

Search and buy 2 air bags and bear in mind you will probably need to replace the shock at the same time.

arnotts!

I fear it is going to to get expensive! It's a good car however.

lol -probably. although i do love mine.

Mine is at the stage now where i either invest in a few parts ( door lock, , snow tire, head liner, roof box, luggage cover etc) and keep it forever, or sell and upgrade.

I really dont need anything as big for a daily driver, but as a ski wagon it is fantastic. ANND, if i changed it i would be getting something very similar any ways!

Yes I know what you mean. I get comments on the cars condition. And I like the way it wafts along the road, but i will certainly have to invest some more money in the future. Not sure what I would replace it with.

Oh dear, let's hope so. I'll let you know when I get mine all fixed. Great cars. Keep thinking about a remap,
