f*ing bloody ebay again!!
Discussion
Finally had enough with the scamming barstewards.
Got an email tonight regarding
Please make sure your listings follow eBay guidelines: Brand Name Misuse
So I have a paid Classified ad on there which states p/ex accepted and then says a couple of makes that I would accept in p/ex.
They now tell me that this isnt allowed as buyers may be confused by the listing...ffs..
They also state that if I dont remove the other manufacturers names that my listing will be removed and all listing fees will not be refunded!!
Its the only place that I have ever come across that dictates what you are allowed put in your title for a PAID classified advertisement!!

Unfortunately, if you've listed the other makes / models for p/x in your title or subtitle, you'll have fallen foul of the keyword spamming rule. They've been trying to clamp down on it in recent months as it's been getting worse as time goes on.
Most people tend to use it to ensure their car appears in multiple generic searches across various other cars / listings, which is what may now be happening with your advert.
They're commonly seen on eBay looking something like "MK2 FORD FOCUS RS - NOT ST BMW M3 AUDI VAUXHALL VXR PORSCHE RANGE ROVER LOTUS!!!", meaning that ad is now spread over various different searches rather than a make / model specific one.

It really grips my sh*t when people do that. I refuse to bid on anything with 'not' in the title now and all my saved searched have '-not' in them. It's the mark of a tw*t.Ebay took an advert of mine down for having the word "style" in it.
It was a small child's BMX style bike. I did not want to exclude the style as that would imply it was BMX bike rather than a child's bike made in the style of a BMX bike.
They insisted that I must be trying to pass it off as I used the word style. They can be idiots at times.

exactly why eBay are doing the right thing in the OPs case - put the p/x details in the body of the descriptionMost people tend to use it to ensure their car appears in multiple generic searches across various other cars / listings, which is what may now be happening with your advert.
