Oh, how sweet:

Beaten about the head by the brigade of which he is a senior member (just in a different sector).

Its amazing what the PC brigade force people to apologise for these days.
Myself I find the idea of 2 men together physically sickening, but I don't have any problem with other people doing it. Still, should that mean I have to be all nice and smiley and behave as though I don't find it a bit strange?
*prepares for wrongly-aimed incoming flames*

No , you can say what you think if you find it strange, but that doesn't mean that it's ok to use derogatory terms just because you dont like or understand something.
'Queers' is quite a common place term for gays these days, it's often not what is said but the way it's said that reveals homophobia, Brunstrom probably said it in a derogatory manner.
I hope he gets a bashing from the North Wales Nazi Gay Association. Followed by 3 points and 60 queers err I mean quid.

So where do you draw the line? Not many people here like the idea of European integration, is it now not ok to take the piss because it might offend some of our neighbours on the continent?
I've never used the word queer, but I don't know many people that haven't used similar phraseology in the pub etc.
One could take offence to be called straight by a gay chap! Not me, I hasten to add
I do agree that it's all about the intent behind the speaking of words. So, you can call people all sorts of things if it's true but you should make reasonable efforts not to be offensive. A lot of people aren't offended by normal banter. For instance I'm white and english and you can call me that all day.

Isn't having a Gay Police Association discriminatory? Or can non-gay policepersons join?
Same goes for the Black Police Association.
BiB comments appreciated.

nons are invited to join
If I were a black, gay, police officer (on which I score 0 out of 3), which organisation should I join (assuming I only wanted to join one)? - Streaky
