hi all i have got a k&n filter cartridge fitted it was from a 2.8 scopio (i think) cost was about £30 from most motor stores i dont think it made much difference to power just means you dont need to change it again just clean it and oil it at services much better quality than a paper filter so worth while
ps have you got lots of wholes drilled in you airbox as i have and dont know if it is standard or not
the other options are to fit an after market air filter from a cossy etc this will mean mods to hose etc but will look good if done properly try looking at the 57i kit for the 2.9 that sort of thing pipercross do universal filters that you could try
good luck

Thanks Trevor,
No holes in my airbox (well, just the one). Surely this allows it to suck hot air from the radiator which will be less dense and therefore lacking in oxygen a bit.
Is yours the same box in same place? No two 's' the same, they say!
I have Ford part 78 TF-9600-DA mounted directly between rad and engine centrally, with short plastic intake nozzle pointing to passenger wheelarch.
Anyway, any further input is welcome!

I know this is an old thread but can anyone help please..
I have recently ordered the Pipercross c3004 air filter as shown on the S parts list for my S1. However now i've received it looks nothing like anything I have! Is this the wrong part?! What air filter do I need?! I've tried searching other threads but to no joy!

From what i have gathered, the Pipercross filter fitted to the S1.5/S2 cars with the two Bosch airflow meters, is a TVR only part. The C3004 is similar to look at but smaller and only rated at 150BHP.
Costs are £38 + VAT from TVR.
The best option in my view is to get 2 top hat adapters from Demon Tweeks to bolt onto the airflow meters, 2 lengths of hose clipped to them , and 2 filters on the ends mounted at a good source of cold air in front of the rad area .
You can also modify the airbox on the S1 to provide a snorkel tube to the front of the car , removing the panel filter and fitting a cone filter on the end of the air hose snorkel.
