As per title. Looking to have geometry set. OPC?

I am anal about having a centred wheel and appropriate tyre wear. Suggestions for a decent place please

First question I would ask is why do you want a geo? Have you noticed some handling weirdness or do you have some strange tyre wear?

I don't know of any places in the North East but I would recommend you go to a specialist rather than an OPC.

All an OPC will do is set it back to 'within Porsche approved tolerances' and they try and upsell some parts to you. A specialist will try and help you achieve what you want.

Thanks Dirtbiker but too far North East...............

I was informed at last service that settings were 'out' allegedley confirmed by the laser kit printout.

Significant hopping on lock. More so than when I first got it. Handling quite good but a bit 'light' at 'speed'...

I used Revolution Motorsport in Gateshead after doing a suspension swap on my Subaru a few years back, they have Hunter 4 wheel alignment gear which does camber and caster as well as the usual toe in / out, I expect they can manage a Porsche too, I think I paid about £120 or thereabouts.

Not suggesting it doesn't need a geometry check, but don't be fooled by the hopping on full lock, it's a case of " they all do that sir ", and a symptom called Ackermans. I've had a few cars display this, the bigger the wheel/tyre combo the more pronounced it's likely to be if the car's at all prone to it. My current Boxster on 19s does it on full lock, car drives fine otherwise.

Hopping gets a lot worse as the temps get lower. As has been said they all do that to a degree - Winter tyres more or less make it disappear for practical purposes, but it's fundamentally due to Ackermann inaccuracies. (If a car turns a circle the inner wheel describes a smaller circle than the outer one. If the geometry of the steering does not reflect that accurately - as most recent Porsches don't - you get scrup or hopping) Winter tyres have smaller tread blocks and more flexible rubber in cold temperatures which shuffle about more and so accommodate the geometric inaccuracies. Summer tyres have larger tread blocks which get progressively more rigid as temperatures drop.
