Hi

Just trying to guage costs. I dont plan track days - what kind of mileage can you get from a set of tyres on an 911 asssuming reasonable day to day driving.

Also - what is the running in needed on new 911s ?

Depends a lot on your driving style, but I'd reckon up to 20K from the fronts and 15K from rears.

I got 1500 miles from my rears but that included 1 track day

Running in is supposed to be a 1000 miles but my salesman told me 500 miles, so I just nailed it from when it warmed up instead.

1500 miles must have been one heck of a trackday !

What does a set of fronts and backs cost on these cars ? and are the standard 911 tyres ?

Well the tyres are crap if you get the Michelins, as the shoulder is very soft for extra grip but it just peels off if you slide the car. Mine were fine in the morning but after a few laps and lots of sideways fun they were completely buggered right down to the canvas.

Tyres cost 480 quid from Black Circle for 2. That is for the Michelins on a 19 inch rim. Micheldever were slightly cheaper but not very convenient since I live 200 miles away
