I feel a mid-life crisis approaching.

What are the teams' views on this please?

Just a personal view - A lot of money for a non S gen 1 997

Low miles, nice colour

Pros:
- It's low mileage

Cons:
It's:
- A 997.1 (not the 997.2 with 2009 with better DFI engine)
- Base 3.6, not the 3.8S which comes with extras as standard
- A tip gearbox (not later PDK auto or better still a manual
- A Targa based on the convertible body shell so has extra weight and less rigidity
- 4WD less pure than 2WD (do you need 4WD)
- Blue paint and blue leather is marmite, so can be hard to sell later
- Non-sports seats
- £34k is expensive for a 997.1 (you're at Gen 2 money)

Personally I'd suggest Gen 2 a manual 997.2 C2S coupe.

Here are an example of a couple of Gen 2 3.6 coupes at not much more:

997.2 3.6 PDK coupe with 43k miles at £36k

997.2 3.6 manual coupe with 26k miles at £36k

I'd certainly take your time a look for a slightly higher mile 997 Gen 2.

Thanks chaps, appreciate the comments.

Maybe looking to replace my splendid old W124 E36 AMG. I've had it for 5 years now.

Money in the bank is not even keeping up with inflation so thought I'd sell E36 and add a few shillings and buy a 911 as a toy that won't loose too much.

The ad says widebody, I didn't think the non-S came in a wide body, only in the S variant.

All 997 Targas were 4 wheel drive, so by default have the wider body. Even the non-S, so the advert is correct. As others have said though, it's strong money!

The short of it: It is - in market terms - a rather undesirable model (targa, non-S, non-PDK auto) with a "special" interior colour. If it floats your boat you should negotiate very hard to get a low price or walk away
