Gees, the bloody crap you have to go though to transfer a personal pension to a SSAS these days.

The insurance company want:

Proof of HMRC Registration - fair enough.
A copy of the Trust Deed & Rules.
Proof that I am a member of the scheme.
A copy of my employment contract - don't have one!
A copy of a recent payslip.
A copy of a recent bank statement confirming receipt of salary - no risk of ID theft there (it will be heavily redacted)
A copy of my last P60.
The completion of a two page questionnaire.

All for a £13,000 tv .......

The ceding provider will be paranoid about the comeback if it turns out there was any disadvantage related to the SSAS or its underlying investment, because too many scheme members are being duped into inappropriate schemes which benefit fraudsters and subsequently seek to blame the previous scheme for "letting them do it".

Yes, it'll seem mad, but that's the world we live in now.
