I've got a relatively dated Samsung plasma tv which has only one HDMI port.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a splitter (if such a thing exists) that would allow me to plug two things into the one HDMI port (a PS4 and a Firestick).

There's quite a few on Amazon but the reviews all seem to be hit and miss.

Yes, just get an hdmi switch. They're inexpensive. Get one with a remote.

Is it possible to get a HDMI switch that 'Auto switches' to feed from whatever device is playing?

Could do with another HDMI port, but want to avoid having another remote control kicking about.

Perfect thread. Have recently added an Amazon Fire Stick to my decade old Samsung, which means there's no port for my Sky box.

Thanks, chaps. thumbup

New TVs are so much better than old ones. Go on, treat yourself. Get a Smart TV and they have built in apps and everything.

My friends who use apps on 'Smart' TVs are constantly moaning about how unintuitive/awkward/unupgradable/obsolete the apps can be.

Having a Sky+ box and an Apple TV seems the best solution for me at the moment. Would be great if there was one 'Everything box' available, but I don't think that will ever happen.

I haven't seen a TV under £2.5K that has a picture quality better than my trusty old Panasonic plasma either yet.

I have a couple of HDMI splitters from Maplin ( image) as I have a pocket projector with only one input on it but 3 sources + a basic LED TV with only 2 inputs but again, a further 3 sources for it. Works perfectly, only about £30 and easy to use. I initially had a Duronic splitter but some of my sources wouldn't work with it for some reason, especially the apple TV and Xbox which would constantly drop the connection somehow.

The two I have do this, but it does seem to depend on the source input.
