Due to imminent emigration, I have decided to sell my cars.
Yes bloody all of 'em.

Im taking a sabatical and will travel around a bit. Been working non-stop since I was 14 and its time to take a long trip.
Have 6 months to do my business handovers and find replacements, but really looking forward to the trip.

Unfortunately, I have to say goodbye to my cars and mostly to my V12VR.... im going to miss her so much. Out of all the cars, this is the one I wanted to keep forever.
But Im going away for a long time and perhaps not to return to Holland, so really couldnt justify keeping it...

Last weekend, me and 2 of my friends picked up my cars from my garage and went for a last blast before handing them over to the dealer. Surprisingly it cleared up, we drove around the northern parts of Amsterdam and did some high speed tunnel runs and found an abonded industrial terrain to do some 1on1 sprints. (Obviously the SLR couldnt be beaten but it was a lot of fun).

We had lunch near the water.
We put them up against the water in Amsterdam and suddenly 25 or so 10-year old boys were swarming the cars. We opened up the doors and let them all sit in the cars and start the engines.
After which we took a few of them for a short spin... Needless to say they had a blast. One of the dads had his camera and snapped up a few shots. I thought I would share them here.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the non-sense and entertainment that was shared here and help and advice that was given. Hope to return again in 1 or 2 years once I decide where to settle down.

Peace out.

Of all 3 cars, the vantage is the slowest. Interested to know what makes the Vantage beat the others for ownership. Near got a vantage last summer and still regret not pulling the trigger.

Have a nice sabbatical and don't wait too long to get back on the fold. DB11.

Great photos and a great - and classy - send off.

A short break from cars will make your return something to look forward to.

Have fun!

Great cars! I did the same let Utrecht and emigrated to Northern BC LOL! The contrast could not have been bigger. From a big busy City to the remote wilderness of BC. But i had to have a Aston. Bought a DB9 and driving it now in Northern BC.

Maybe at some point i will go back to Holland but for now life is just to good here in BC. I wish you all the best and i hope you find a nice spot you can call home.

Cheers Jeroen

Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words.

Im sad to see them go, but the kind words do help.
I know they are just cars, but I really spent a lot of time trying to find each one of them, so they are all special.
Why is tha Vantage the most special to me?
I really don't know, its just a feeling...the sound, the sense of occasion and the high level of bad-assery. Who in their right mind thought about putting the biggest engine in the smallest car, slapping some dirty lookin' carbon vents on there and chopping the roof off? And to top if off in a volcano red color... Im going to cry next time I see someone elses V12VR frown

The 550 is a close 2nd place. I bought this car almost 2 years ago as the biggest cliche ever: my present to myself for my 30th birthday. That car is now getting almost 20 years old! It can keep up with the Vantage in acceleration (its just a little bit slower), but you can really spank it from standstill as the clutch is much better built so take-off is better. It also has the fiorano handling pack and original carbon bucket seats, so its a racey GT. a 20 year old car that can easily reach speeds of over 300 km/h... Love the tubi and Xpipe on the car and the sounds is very old-school ferrari; low grumbling at idle revs and high-scream at high revs. Really going to miss her. frown

SLR:
well.....the strangest car i have ever driven. Its supposed to be GT AND a sportscar at the same time to compete with the Zonda's and Enzos from back in the day. You can clearly tell this is a kid that had 2 different parents telling it what to do. GT car with nervous steering habits, race like brakes, chubby as anything I have seen (eventhough the entire outside and chassis is of carbon-fiber), coupled with a somewhat slow 5 speed automatic slushbox... Go figure!
But overall, its brilliant. It doesnt even sound like a car at all, it sounds more like a plane-engine... or weird big V-twin motorcycle.
The position sitting in the car is absurd, but at some point it starts to feel right. So much car in front of you, you feel like your sitting on top of the rear wheels (which you almost do). The engine sound also is right next to you due to the sidepipes, so a burst of throttle doesnt feel the same in this car, you feel it at your feet...weird but fun sensation.
From the side, when you see yourself sitting in it via shop windows as you drive by, it looks like a fighter jet (with the roof down haha). The best thing is the power and the ease in which you can accelerate all in great comfort. A very bad-ass car, sad to see it go frown

Each one had their pros and cons, but its time to see goodbye.
Adios.

EDIT: They will be sold via Louwman Exclusive in the Netherlands, so if anyone is interested, I can forward you.
There is a realistic minimum price, so if it doesnt achieve that in the next 6 months, im going to store them away for the next 3-4 years... so there is a small small chance (some of ) the cars might not leave haha.

Good luck with your next venture. Always sad having to sell your pride and joy, even more so if there's more than one!
Remembers me of my dad who sold his entire collection because we were moving to Ibiza! Just sad! Although we had lots of fun in our second life enjoying the powerboats but that's a different story!
I hope you get to keep the V12VR, sell the others and keep the one you seem to like the most in storage until you're back, here's a solution!
