If sheer speed is your thing - that 570S sure seems like good bang for the buck. It topped the Motor Trend driver's car bit as well.
From the lack of rubber in the air and on the pavement - looks like they were doing street starts.

You'd be better off with a standard V12 Vantage S equipped with the recently available Performance Pack!

As the Mercedes beat the GT12, do we interpret that the next Vantage will be quicker than a GT12?

If it comes with the 8-speed DCT that maintains the turbo boost (i.e, torque) and doesn't break the weight scales (the turbo 4.0 V8 should be lighter than the V12) it likely would.

Oh dear.

Some GT12 owners were so upset by the V12VS Performance Pack, that a faster entry level Vantage might be just too much.

Only a joke. As mentioned in the film, a GT12 is a very special car.

Agreed, the GT12 is a rare and special thing. I can't help but think that it's strong suits are now only badge and noise though, that body kit and colour scheme do it no favours.

I'm fairly sure there would be more downforce on a GT3 RS and that still beats it despite a 100bhp power disadvantage. I suspect weight is the main reason

I was there that day (see the BOTB behind-the-scenes video) and by God the GT12 is a wonderful thing, truly is.

The details are exquisite and really show where the money went when you really get up close and personal with one. Also, the noise. THE NOISE!!!!!!

What surprised me (and everyone actually) most on the day was how easily the 675LT destroyed the Aventador SV. It absolutely mullered it, crazy.

At the end the GT12 and the SV both did a run down and holy mother of god the noise was actually sexual. Long live the V12!!!

Perhaps I missed it - but didn't actually see a GT12 vs GT3RS in the clip. But given how they performed vs the AMG GTS - I thought they would be pretty close. Indeed the weight does Astons no favors on a drag strip, but perhaps helps make them more liveable with in the real world.

Indeed an interesting choice - turbo performance (overboost really help keep up the torque during shifts) or naturally aspirated sound.

I'm basing it on that the GT3RS was a lot closer to the Merc than the GT12. Wish they had put times and speed that they crossed the line on the video for a proper comparison.
