I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it parked up on the hard shoulder with its blue strobes on behind the grill! So a warning to those who use the M8 - there's a dark blue stealth-like Skoda Octavia on the prowl! Sorry I didn't get the reg - I passed it too quickly!

Octavia vRS I should think. Apparently a few forces have 'em, IIRC.

Cheap, reliable and do a good job, I guess, plus you'd not immediately perceive one as unmarked plod.

Leicestershire use marked ones with Fabias for the CPSO's or whatever their acronym is.

They have one in Hampshire at present, beware though the oneI have seen looks like a normal dark blue Octavia boggo standard trim. However I have it on first hand information it has RS running gear underneath .

Red one in Herts. Saw it in a 100+ pursuit of an M3 yesterday on the A10 towards Hertford....

HarryW - we have 2 in Hampshire. The one you mention and a silver one. The silver one is currently working out of Farnborouigh, but they move about. I can confirm they are the VRS models.

Spotted the dark blue one with blues on making haste and parting the traffic down Hamble Lane last week. Back to Netley HQ for tea and doughnuts perhaps....

I met the crew of the Dark Blue Hampshire one at the bottom of the A3 Clanfield exit on Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't really the time or place to have a chat about how good their car was

Hampshire have 14 Octavia RS's, now they have closed Whitchurch, they are split between Farnborough, Hedge End and Southampton.
They also cover the A303 with them. Seen quite a lot of speeders caught reciently

Thats really interesting because my first thought about the one I met on Saturday was that it was Black, I accepted Dark Blue as I wasn't paying that much attention to it, but suspect it might well have been a Black one.
