So the cop in his T5 (sounds great when he floors it) drives along the road pushing all the cars out of his way on a 2 lane motorway - is it acceptable, while all the other cars are farting about in the inside lane, to give it some stick and take advantage of the path plod has cleared?!

Had a good one other night - got a call out when in my Skoda
Had to make it to the nick to get my kit
Big queue of traffic due to raod works so saw a marked car
Pulled alongside and explained my predicament

So - if you were in York and saw an escorted bright green skoda felicia going into Fulford nick - please forgive

Don't worry about it, I got the prize for doing that so many times they eventually let me keep the award.

Of course Richard, we quite understand. I trust the rest of us will also have a good measure of latitude allowed when we happen to be in press on mode.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

No, but then it's not really the 'in town' bits that I'm interested in. I find other areas more appealing.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

In theory, I should imagine it's fine. In practise though, the traffic car is usually travelling above the limit, and it would worry me to stay with it, just in case he/she decided to pull me. The other problem is that alot of the other drivers who make way for the BiB, then immediately switch lanes again; some (especially small lorries and vans) do it just to make sure you don't get a chance to 'jump the queue', cos that would be unsocialist, wouldn't it?! So the only answer is to speed to keep up with the Bib, and then travel close enough to the BiB to stop the other drivers pulling out again before you've passed. A sure way to trouble, I would have thought!

No no! I'm not talking about closely following him because that would be asking for trouble! Besides he was going too fast! I just mean passing everyone who is still farting about on their brakes on the inside lane!

Its the only way to get through the traffic here in London, followed a police transit a couple of nights back all the way from Buck palace up to the top of Park Lane, had to stop then because he jumped a red light!!!! But saved about 10 mins on the journey home !!!

I've done this before, usually most people don't see till the last minute, and swerve to avoid the police, rather than spot it a while back and slow down and move over.
So I follow the police car round the roundabout, people STOPPED in the middle lane of roundabout!!! So I was behind police car which then swerved last minute to avoid the slam on middle laner of the roundabout. So I just saw this car stopped infront of me!
EEkk, slammed on. Didn't want to follow police swerving round roundabout cutting up other drivers.

Some people respond so badly to police coming by that they become dangerously! I'd think twice about skooting up the clear lane in future for fear of an idiot not looking and pulling back across into you!
