Maybe you can solve an issue that has niggled at me for years - mostly after reading pieces in old Motor Sports I suppose. How exactly do you pronounce Zborowski? Do you drop the Z or the b?

Both Eliot Zborowski and his son Lou were killed driving Mercedes cars in motor sport.
Eliot's father, Martin Zabriskie, changed his name to the more aristocratic-sounding Zborowski (Zabriskie is an anglicised version of Zborowski).
Lou and his friend and fellow racing driver Jack Howey were miniature railway enthusiasts. After his death, Zborowski left money for Howey to build the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway in Kent.

Thanks for the replies everyone - I was picking your brains to see which one to make as a slot car (Scalextric car for us Brits). I try to sell a few to cover my costs and I didn't want to make one that nobody knew, here's how it looks so far. It's designed in CAD first so a master model can be done on a 3D printer and then resin copies will be taken of it.
Chitty is a big car, here's where I started with a VW for comparison!

although the film did ingrain me with the meaning of posh
that film just keeps on giving, now added to the old brain ready for unleashing at a pub where i will be bought drinks just to shut me up

From what I read some years ago there were 2 cars with Ford engines plus 4 mock ups without engines for particular scenes, including the wreck at the beginning of the film.But one of the motorised ones had some kind of difference (grill colour perhaps) from all the other cars so was only used for a couple of shots. Nearly all the driving scenes are with the other car which is the one that goes the rounds as the original Chitty chitty bang bang.
Actually the phrase 'Chitty bang bang' is supposed to come from a WW1 soldiers song. The chitty being the piece of paper entitling them to leave base and go and chat up the local mademoiselles. No idea what 'bang bang' refers to though.
