Chimaera DIY kit?

just noticed in the mirror threads, the Chimaera uses parts from all types of cars which comes handy for some kind of transplantations

So far I noticed:

engine: Rover (aka Buick, aka BMW)
wing mirrors: Citroen
interior mirror: Peugeot
break fluid/water tank: Ford
locks & keys: Opel

any more brands?

the engine isnt used in BMW unless you mean the range rover for the 2 years while BMW owned them???
anyway gearbox rover sd1 or ford sierra cosworth ,
ford brakes, ford diff, corsa window switches, cavalier steering column and switch gear yup your hand built sportscar is a nicely made kitcar Oh nearly forgot volkswagen rad cap!!!

Rear lights Ford Fiesta.
The wing mirrors were also used on the McLaren F1 and the Jag xj220. Just think how much a TVR would cost if they custom made all the bits for such a small production run.

the steering rack is actually one of the few built for tvr parts but the interior light is from an escort!!!

not according to a chap who rebuilds them locally... I'll try and get chapter and verse when I see him next!

Many parts were modified by TVR before use. The engine is an extreme example of this. You won't find a single Rover or Buick (where did BMW come from) with a TVR Rover V8 unless it's been transplanted from a TVR.

That's why the Bowler Wildcat was (is?) listed as having a 5L TVR Rover V8 rather than a 5L Rover V8.
