Hi all,

I'm considering pulling the trigger on a V12V to replace my McLaren 12C. Are there any must have options or things to look for?

I'm considering the black car at McGurk which is 9k miles, 2010, with b&o hi to and lightweight buckets for 80k.

I guess like always check the paint around the door handles for bubbling, check the front cooling hoses for going soft and make sure they have proper jubilee clips not the pinch type - one of mine popped off which didn't do any lasting damage but was quite annoying.

Make sure the brake discs feel mirror smooth to the touch.

Maybe get it inspected by someone like Bamford Rose who are pretty local?

Looks like a good 'un and McGurks have a good name.

Must be this one:

I can't see the B&O tweeters though but that could just be the photo. Looks a good car.

Mines still up but AM Birmingham are meant to be dropping the price. Seems the V12V market has taken a bit of a tumble the last few months.

just out of interest why from a Mclaren 12C to a V12 Vantage.

Dont let Rambolambo on the Mclaren section find out.

I loved the 12C and assuming it completes tomorrow I will miss it like crazy. I am toying with ordering a new 570GT

I just fancied something different. V12 manual nat asp. If McLaren made one I'd be al over it. But they don't.

Life is short. Too many cars, not enough time!

Yes I agree, I have gone V8 Vantage, 2 X California and now 458 Spider. Like plenty BHP so now have a BMW X6M as a daily drive.

Looked at the Mclaren 650S Spider but to be honest the discounts I was offered actually put me off.
Also the doors and getting in and out I thought would be a chore after the novelty wore of.

I loved my V8 Vantage Convertible and one day will get back in an Aston.
Enjoy the V12 Vantage fantastic car.

Could you please give more details on what sort of discount you were offered on a 650S?

When I was looking around March this year.
Cars listed brand new at £240K could be bought for around the £205K mark.
Even now on autotrader you will see 2016 650s Spiders for around the £190K mark.
Dealers I am sure will still move on the prices.

When I moved up from my V8V I looked very very closely at a couple of 12C's. Incredible pace and fantastic ride quality. Would be a great daily driver I thought - as well as for a track day. But went for a V12V for the manual (have got very good at rev matching downshifts ) and the sound - and the fact that it has enough room for our sports equipment.
Am also tempted by the 570GT but the thought of looking at those LCD screens leaves me cold.

Hope you enough the V12V as much as I am.

Values are really on the slide eek

ETA...after a quick look through PH adverts that looks suspiciously cheap or maybe even a typo?

States 6k miles in the ad but when you zoom into the dash it appears to be at nearly 37k miles!
Might be a reason for the price?

That's my car, sold to them last weekend. It is 36k miles. It was a great car, no problems at all with it in the two years I owned it. Did runs to the south of France and all over the UK, and priced to sell, I'd say.

Well done to you, love it when they're used.
The whole mileage thing boils my piss.
Great buy for somebody!
