Tech Start-up Funding?

Does anybody have any experience raising funding via sites like crowdcube or seedrs?

Or has anyone invested in a company using one of these platforms?

We're looking to raise investment for a tech startup and are interested in these alternative funding methods, so any real world feedback/experience would be good to hear.

We'd like a balance of experience/cash (as I expect everyone does!) Our team currently has the experience to build the tech/software and the network/skills to sell it we are just aware of the amount of money it's going to take to develop our product.
