Carrera 3.2 main beam stopped working

Most common problem is a burnt out indicator stalk flash function. Higher wattage lamps do not help the life of the switch but many fail due to overheating of the contacts that melts the tiny plastic operating piece inside. If this is the case just buy a new switch assemble, around £90 from memory.

Im hopeful that the fault isnt at this point - although anythings possible. I have a funny feeling that a wire between the dash switch and the back of the lamp itself has become unattached. I had all the lamp assembly out and all the wires/connections appear very clean and solid.
I remember switching the lights on aprox a week ago and noting that they didint seem very bright so I got out and the drivers side headlamp was only on sidelamp - I shut the door as it was raining and the light then came on!!! Sadly this hasnt been a consistent fix
I guess Matt etc at Autowerke will be lightening my wallet again...
The results are in!!!
Yet again Matt @ Autowerke (Norwich) produce the goods!!!
A corroded connection at the fuse box end was the source of my problems, I had tested the fuse etc and everything 'looked' okay - but it obviously wasnt!
The bill from Autowerke - £23.50!
Im 'fairly' happy with that!!!
