Doing a job for a new client Weds. Nice gig. Long said we wouldn't commit to 3d party costs (studio time, kit hire etc) on their behalf till funds were in. Funds were sent today from Finland but will take 2-3 days to clear - I expected them to be IN today...

Dilemma! I don't really know them - although they seem a big established company and we have spoken a few times.

They have sent we a 'kuitti' (receipt!) for the bank transfer but frankly a 4yr old could knock that up on Word!

Instinct is go with it but I am breaking own rules and could get bitten and end up with with 3d party costs if anything changes!

What to do!? How long should these payments take in reality - they used SWIFT (ha!) or IBAN as an Euro country. Will the weekend slow it down?

Thanks

My experience from being paid from the US, is that funds usually show next day.

We're in the SEPA (for now!) which means that it should be as quick as a transfer within the UK - I'd have expected it to turn up same day or next day. Call your bank, the delay is probably there.

We deal primarily in Euros and some payments are same day, some take a few days - really depends on how it's sent.

Any mileage in calling the bank and asking them if its good - based on the ref numbers I have? Or will it only be there when its good and ready...?

SEPA payments are between Euro accounts, so if the OP doesn't have a Euro account it will be some form of TT or Wire.
