I note that a few lenders offer combined (part and part interest and repayment) mortgage. one of the dubious benefits of being a public servant is that I have a final salary pension with a fairly predicable lump sum and pension which I can take in 10 years. Is it likely that a mortgage provider would accept my expected lump sum as a repayment vehicle for the interest only portion?

Yes.

As long as you meet all other IO lending criteria.
