Friends Re-United.....

No, not the website, but my friday night. I bumped into a very old friend who I had lost touch with. Gave him my number so we could meet up again.

He's going away to South Africa for 6 months on wednesday, and knows I'm really busy at the moment too, so sent me a text yesterday to the tune of "I know we're both busy, blah blah, get in touch by tuesday and we'll go for a beer or two, but if I don't hear I'll see you when I get back".

Now for the 'good' bit - in my dazed and confused state (hungover) yesterdasy morning, I cleared all my read texts without saving his number. I am with Orange and have a motorola V3, so my question to the PH massive, is whether there is any way I can retrieve his number? There is no 'unsaved numbers' area on the phone that I can locate, and Orange can't re-send his message.

I think I may be up a very smelly creek sans paddle!

I got a new phone (changed from Nokia to Sony) and managed to delete a foxy girls number... Waaaaaaaaaaa

Suppose if you'd texted it before you could wait for the bill to come through / check it online, but in your case I think it's gone over the rise !

Have you asked Orange to give you the number of phones that texted you on the day? They will have a record of this, but whether they have the means to get the info to you is another matter.

Don't you get an itemised bill from orange - including who you sent texts too? It's been a while since I was with them.

On the V3 front - do you still have your outbox (message centre->Outbox), or did you blitz the whole thing? I've managed to empty my inbox, but the outbox is still in tact. Have you tried to phone him? The number may still be in the dialed numbers area.

Thanks for the pointers guys, but:

1. I only had a received message (now gone), I had not yet replied.

2. Hadn't yet called him, so no outgoing call record.

3. Orange say they cannot help, even though I know the exact time the message arrived.

So I'll just have throw myself down a few flights of stairs to see if I feel better.......
