My M3 was easy as could mount it on the headrest uprights - but now that the M4 seats are one piece where do you mount your cameras?
Off to the Sunday Service at Silverstone in a few weeks and want to get some footage.

Although in an F10 M5, i've mounted mine just behind the rear view mirror so the pad when camera is not in use is out of sight.

I have the BMW/Go Pro towing eye attachment. I don't know if they'll allow its use at Silverstone, but it gives a nice view.

stick in on the left side of your crash helmet using the adhesive pad.
Video quality is good.

You can see your steering input, and speedo.
Also gives you an impression of where you are looking when driving.

Not an M4 but you get the idea here.

It gives a perfect view as you can see the top of the bonnet & then a semi panoramic view of everything happening on track/road. No glare from the windscreen, although it's a GoPro 4 Black Edition i'm using so I've no idea if other models give a different perspective.

Clip below on track at Spa last year. Is a slight reflection of the centre dash speaker, but with a little adjustment this is now removed.
