991.2 Sat Nave issue after DME update
Discussion
Hi,
had my 911 991.2 since March and took it in to the dealers a couple of weeks ago for a coolant reservoir replacement (recall) and a DME software update. All seemed OK after picking the car up, however today I've noticed the Sat Nav isn't picking up my current location (I'm not sure where t thinks I am). It will calculate a route when a destination is input but from the location where it thinks it is, not from where I actually am. It was working fine last weekend after I picked the car up.
Is there some way to do a reset on the Sat Nav? (Fuse removal maybe). I'm tying to avoid a 50 mile round trip to the dealer,
Cheers

I suffered from this on my Cayenne. It all seemed to be connected to a windscreen replacement I had. Have you had one? Talked to quite a few folk (including OPC's) and if some the connectors around/on the screen have not been set perfectly you get the intermittent fault. Can't see how myself but when I had a second windscreen put in (stone chips again!) I asked for the folk fitting it to take a little more time in the fitting. All now sorted
No windscreen change, so doubt it is this. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

In NAV select settings / Location / Actual
Thanks. Can't seem to find this. When in NAV I select OPT/Location/Actual but there doesn't seem to be anything I can change or reset. Seems to indicate some position coordinates, elevation and that I have zero satellites. I suspect zero satellites maybe the problem but not sure why.Looks like a call to the dealers.
Ah, I just remembered the numbers from my previous 997, which had numeric keypad. So don't know for later touchscreen units. If you look at the fuse list usually located behind the fuse panel cover you should find that the PCM unit has a dedicated fuse, which you could pull out with the little extractor tool provided, then reinsert. That will reboot the unit. Maybe necessary to move the car afterwards to get the nav unit to calibrate itself, which it will anyway after a few corners. Since the car is still under Porsche warranty you may deem it prudent to call them for confirmation.
