Is anyone else awaiting the release of Civ VI eagerly?

I only became aware of it the other day, and despite the fact it's released in about two weeks, I think I can wait and make it an Xmas present... and let everyone else cope with the traditional bugs-pre-first-patch. hehe

From what I've seen about it, it does look a bit "cartoony".

I'm a bit concerned it's a bit cartoony, the characters look very similar to those on the phone/tablet version.

But it looks like they've made some pretty significant changes to the gameplay (cities can expand into adjacent tiles), barbarians aren't so stupid).

More to the point, my 18-month-old kick-ass PC can just about play it. Usually a new Civ means a new PC for me. laugh

Someone has resurrected my failed thread smile

Pretty much the only thing I play. I'm not sure its better than Civ 5 but its as good... and very different.

I play in a much more warlike way than 5, which is nice!

Off to civfanatics to find out about expansion.

Almost bought this in the Steam sale last week, 50% off. But for some reason decided £24.99 was too much (I'm tight and don't like paying more than £15-£20)

Silly really as I've checked back and can see I've played nearly 400hrs of Civ5. I imagine it was a lot more than that on 1 & 2, so I'm sure I'd get my money's worth. Hopefully they'll reduce it if they have a Boxing Day sale... a whole week off work and a new Civ game type

It's back on sale on Steam, 50% off. I loved Civ V, but I can't bring myself to spend >£20 on Civ VI given all the reports telling me how similar it is.

Green Man Gaming!!!!

Also VI is very different from V, the districts and geography really add something!
