Hello All

Apologies if this has been covered but I couldn't find anything on the subject

Is the V8 Vantage Centenary Edition worth it, or just a waste?

One is currently for sale very near me. Looks identical to the one above but is the automated manual

I currently have a 997 Turbo and feel I am only ever utilising 20-30% of its abilities living in the inner city and need to drive at least 45 minutes before I can open her up, hence am considering an AMV8, after lusting after them for years!

Any input is much appreciated

Thank you
Jkay

I don't know about the edition that you refer to, except that the year must have been 2013. Aston do many special editions and they usually involve some included extras.

Drive an automated manual, in slow traffic and reversing, to make sure that you like it.

They did 100 of each model all with the same paint job. Looks very nice but Ive never seen a used one for sale to be able to comment on if they command a significant premium or not?

I suspect grant's book will have the additional features of the centenary edition

the centenary editions weren't pushed particularly well so I suspect they didn't get close to selling out, particularly other than the Vanquish version which was pushed a little more. Would be amazed if there are more than a handful of V8 Vantage centenary cars in the UK. As a result, hardly anyone knows about them and I don't recall any coming to market so nil market evidence regarding what premium they might attract

I think they were available for most models and were effectively a well specced model with a paint job on the bonnet. I don't think they sold very many at all. Would that create a premium for them or not? Never seen one for sale before. I don't think I would be prepared to pay one but others may think differently.

The paint job is extremely nice but works better on a larger car such as the Vanquish in my opinion.

Works had a Vanquish last year and they were certainly asking a premium for it over similar age/mileage versions. It sold quickly but whether they achieved that premium I am not sure.

Thanks for the replies.

Sounds like it may just be a little gimmicky then, but also happens To just be one of the cars that fits the bill specwise (wheels etc) and local to me

The dealer is no doubt going to try and use the Centenary bit to their advantage so I'll have to see how the viewing goes this week

Coming from a 997 turbo you will find the V8 underwhelming. Much better to consider the V12 model. Residuals are good too imo

Or perhaps a V8V S? Better compromise.

The V12 is a little out of budget lol, but did test drive the V8 Vantage S today and enjoyed it
