Nespresso - Weird Tasting Crema
Discussion
Wonder if anyone else has noticed this - I've had a Inissia Nespresso Machine for about 2 years. Despite a monthly flush with cafeza, the coffee itself tastes pretty good, but the crema always seems to taste (and smell) of burnt rubber. I use a wide variety of capsules, so it doesnt seem to be related to just one.
I've since gotten a Delonghi B2C machine, and the crema is smooth and rich, as you'd expect.
Just me or has anyone else noticed this?

Assuming the machine's been well cleaned with the appropriate product, as you say it has, and you're using the same batch of pods, I'd say the machine's probably running a bit hot. Sounds like the coffee is getting burned during the extraction process, this would cause 'burned rubber' type aromas as well as excessive bitterness.
