After being done for 98 in a 60 zone, I thought that I would get an SP30 on my license - as per DVLA's site "exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road", versus the SP60 I got given "Undefined speed limit offence".

If every road has a speed limit, what's an SP60 used for?

Does it make a difference to insurance in anyone's opinion?

Cheers.

I got SP60 for 101 in a 60, don't think it matters to ins companies if SP60 or 30 I had one of each and only bothered them because the SP60 was for 6pts not 3.

I got an SP60 for 104 on the A1 which had a 70 limit. I think they make it up as they go along, as long as they maxamise the revenue they don't care what they issue.
