Gran Turismo 4 Review
Discussion
Game pretty... didn't really think it was a major graphical improvement until I raced on one of the countryside tracks last night. The car handling algorithms seem to have been improved, though. You really feel the lurch when you slam on the brakes (and then lurch all over the place if you tried cornering at the same time!!!).
Not fun when you try to practice guitar after playing, though...

Don't know if it has a ZR1. Quite possibly. It has a 69 vette and lots of camaros, so... Haven't done a search for the whole list of cars that become available. When you start the game not all the cars are visible.
I'm sure google would have the answer, somewhere... randomly picking an answer (which may be internet-nonsense: source=www.gamerseurope.com/articles/350) it seems that it does... here's a list of the Chevys that it comes up with...

That's not sad at all... the reason I got Gran Turismo (the first one) and a Playstation the first time round was that some oik had broken into my car at the time (an MR2 GT-S) and I couldn't drive it as the garage was having difficulty finding the correctly tinted door/quarterlight glass. I missed driving her so much that I got a video game with her in it. Ever since then the first car that I've 'aspired to' when playing GT2, GT3 and now GT4 has been an MR2 GT-S. Still very good at thrashing around the early tracks to get money together!
I really hope I don't get GT4....as if I do I know I will waste too much time playing it
I so want a Sony PSP and I have so far managed to resist!
If I have to take another job involving travel other than the normal commute then I will probably have to give in......

Ha ha - by cunningly giving up life in the real world, I have managed to acquire an 89 ZR1 in red! (Not seen Brental around lately have you??) It was closest I could get to my '86, except that it is now tuned to 608 hp. It seems to go past the Viper's quite effectively!!
Top tip for getting rid of annoying computer cars - sit on their bumper on the straights until you near a sharp corner. Keep the accelerator button pressed and watch as they are unable to slow down, then brake at the last minute watching as they are miraculously launched into the scenery!! I am now wondering if the same tactic works on the middle lane of the A1M....

I use the old stock car racing tactic of waiting until they are turning into the corner and then nudge them on the rear quarter. They spin and tend to take longer to get back onto the track.

How can this be? - you guys are supposed to be working but find the time to become expert on computer games. I'm the one who is not working and I can't find the time. I'm still on the novice level of my PS2 Corvette racing game (however that could be down to lack of coordination rather than time). Table football however ............

You just need a 15 year old son who finds it necessary to issue a challenge that he is a better "driver" than his old man! More than enough to get the red mist going and prove the little bugger wrong! Last nite, after being mullered by him, my only response was " Wait til you can drive a real car. The we'll find out!"
