Dizzy adjustment

I'm trying to adjust the timing on my 400 se . The bolt that clamps it seems to be almost inaccessible or at least very difficult to get a socket on to ! Anyone have the same problems?

No, easy to get on both of mine with a cranked 14mm spanner. I can get about an 1/8th of a turn on the bolt before having to lift the spanner to get another bite on it. Then again mine looks less congested than yours??

Yeah same method - a ring spanner that is offset by about 40mm. Although I think I use a 9/16" rather than a 14mm ;^)

Your PAS pump bracket looks closer than mine is to the dizzy...That looks a RPITA.....

hmmm , I just wouldn't be able to get that down there . power steering pump and bracket are in the way !

I think I usually use a 9/16" socket on a loooong 3/8" square drive... but your PAS bracket looks a bit different to mine (smaller, if anything).

The technique is to get a 15mm spanner from the under side of the PAS pump - it can be done that way or a 15mm socket on the end of a universal extension straight down from above. I had to do this Sunday - make sure your bolt is clean with a spot of grease to aid movement. It's fiddly to get the bolt start but it is do-able.

On the other hand you never know when you have to remove the foot from a crow. Or screw one back on.
