Had a very good time with the DB9. Still love the car. However, the McLaren 570 GTs are arriving in Boston and I really wanted to check them out. Took one for a drive and decided a trade was in order. The 570 is comfortable as advertised, but so damn quick.

Will miss the booming V12 motor. Still have the V8V GT. smile

Congratulations on your new toy. I have to confess to having a bit of prejudice against the new breed of high tech machinery. So they can lap the Nurburgring in 7 point whatever...who really cares. Turbos and flappy paddles just aren't my thing and I also feel, from an aesthetic viewpoint, mid engine cars are not as appealing as the classic GT silhouette either. However, no one can dispute what a great job Mclaren have done. I'm sure the Mac will beat the DB9 in every objective area, but will you feel the same subjectively? Good luck with the 570 and if you get a chance, it would be great to know how the switch from Aston to Mclaren goes.

No worries. Hated to see the DB9 go, but I did not have enough room to keep it.
Regardless, excited about the McLaren. Nothing like the DB, but plenty to smile about.

Having drive a 570s briefly, I thing he will feel just fine. Subjectively of course.

Seriously, those new 'baby' McLarens just ooze class and quality, they're tactile, beautifully made, and bonkers fast whist still feeling exciting at 'normal' speeds.

Well done OP, it looks stunning and enjoy in good health

Congrats OP, would be really interested to hear your thoughts on a comparison between old and new once you have covered a few miles. Having briefly driven a 570S I can see the draw of the GT with the extra space and softer (relatively) setup.

Great car OP. A few have gone that way, one might be along soon to tell you about his trackdays if you're lucky smile

Lovely. Just the spec I would go for. And a good combination with the V8V GT - perhaps that helps you get over missing the engine sound and actual instruments (which has been my dilemma regarding switching).

I guess its not really a new thing that one's special driver's car is actually down on outright performance compared to the "daily use" performance car in the garage.
