You could just use that and enjoy taps it is lovely and looks to be honest from the image shown.

Nicely patinated if you don't suffer from OCD as too many of us do

Looks lovely!

I read A Passion for Porsches by Denis Jenkinson last weekend, a really nice little book about the 356 at the time, although very beardy.

not sure yet, need to have a good look round it to see whats what, i did consider the idea of using as it is but the UK climate is so awful and i don't want to ruin 40 yrs of dry storage..

How very responsible of you! Be interested to hear what you do decide to do! Is there a UK "go to" specialist ?

Have you driven her yet?

I did the same thing earlier this year, now away for winter storage and I am missing the carnut conversations at petrol stations..

not yet, its hasn't run in 40 yrs so needs a full overhaul before firing it up. The battery has leaked so it will need a new battery tray but other than that it looks totally original and solid.

You have to love the weather in the US to keep these cars solid, mine came from Nevada, there was so little rain that the previous owner didn't bother to have a working wiper motor!

Good luck with the restoration - if you haven't already tried it the 356 registry is very good for answering technical questions.

saw this in Porsche Zurich (restored by them, a really good job) in mid Sept 16. On sale for about £85k (before import taxes if any)
