Yes, in Africa mobile phone masts have been errected in Africa to help monitor tagged Elephants and secure their survival.

BBC said:

Mobile telephone technology has been harnessed in giant collars to allow elephants to 'text' their locations to conservationists.

Experts hope to find and preserve the elephants' favoured spots in the African bush. Ishbel Matheson reports from Kenya.

Well this kicks into touch the attitudes to mobile masts in this country and their dangerous emmisions that are said to cause cancer and other things (whatever the current scare is).

So are we saving the Elephants from the poachers or are we going to wipe the Elephants out by mobile death ray instead?

It won't need a big battery, elephants are good at charging.

But in the Serengeti there aren't thousands of people living under each mast.

I'm on about the Elephants since they are going to be in constant contact with them.
