16" All Round?

Ok..... Still having a mare with my tyres.

Fitted Goodyear GSD3's on the rear thinking that they do the right size for the fronts and they dont do the fronts in 15's.

So plan b..... I know that the later cars came with 16 wheels all round, what size are these and correct offset? I could always get a pair of 16"'s (second hand of course) for the front as they GSD3's in 205/50/16????

Sorry, not sure what you mean by offset, but on mine I have 225/45/16 on the front, 245/45/16 on the back. BUT, am also having tyre trouble - see post Toyo 0 Wheelarch 1 probably a page or two back now.

they ran out of 15" fronts...

You need the Tuscan rack stop to stop the front wheels fouling under full lock.

R 225/50ZR16 or 245/45ZR16

Rack stops required which gives you 747 turning circle.

With what size tyre? Or is that because of the tyre size.

I was going to go for 205/50/16 on the basis that the stock size should be 205/55/16.

Whether they were on there from the factory or not that is well over the top for the front and must reduce the lock even more than the 225s.

So what wheel size do you have? Am I right in saying that the front is a 7x15 and the rear is a 7½x16 as standard? And hence you have 7½x16 all round?

Do your 225's rub on the front or have you changed the stops?

Yes - all four rims the same (16"), rack stops needed to stop fouling on front.

my chims fitted with 16" all round, 7 1/2 rear and 7s on the front with 245 45 16 toyos rear and 225 45 16s on the front. no fouling to report unless going over a large dip which causes a slight catch from the n/s rear wheel arch, but nothing to worry about. peter

Exactly the same as mine - but for me it's not a slight catch - bugger

the answer, i,ve found, is to go over these large dips at no more than 40mph, doesn,t catch then. alternatively, fit 225 to the rear and 205s to the front.

NEVER had a problem with mine, according to Rob Ingleby (very nice man) mine had 16"ers on the front!

225/45 x 16 and 245/45 x 16 seem to fit even with Nitrons (which are set lower than standard). Needed rackstops to prevent damage to inside of wheel on full lock, otherwise no issues.
