OK Is this a record for a Chimaera!

Just booked my Chimaera 4.0 in for a service and when I said its the 72000mile service the dealer said 'Wow never seen on with that many miles'

See is a 4year old TVR Chimaera 98/R and I have never had a single problem.

No not even close. I had a Chimaera which I did 81000 miles in 3 years and had no problems.

thats normally as by 72k most people have worked out its better to get a specialist to service the car than a rip off main dealer !!!

72k not even close i know of one car with 90plus and one at over 100

even my 96 car has 50k on it

I know there is at least one owner on the list with over 100k on his Chimaera.

And correct me if I am wrong, but I think that CleG has got 100K on his Griffith..

The factory have a Griff with about 160K on I think.

But it's had 4 new engines, 2 new bodies, and 3 new chassis' ala Triggers original broom!

Sorry we are no where close to the record. I have a 96P Chim 4L with 105 on the clock.
I was put down by a dealer who had a Griff with 185 and a Chim at 150 on there clocks.
So the only answer is keep on driving, change the oil every 4000 miles and enjoy the V8 sound track.

I often wonder what happened to my 98/R 4.0 Chimaera, 54,000 miles in the first 2.5 years.....traded it in for the Tuscan - anyone know where R161XPX is these days.....Starmist blue with magnolia and blue interior - sigh

I,m new here, my chimaera has 92000 miles on, I was starting to think I was alone with this sort of mileage, running superbly though, and used as my only car, god help me!

OK then on the Carlsberg tonight so excuse the seplling.
The high mileage club comes to mind.
Look out for the following bits, it will keep you going longer.
Starter Motor, Tension Pulley bearings £40 fix range rover part. Water Pump bearing just get a new pump.

As I said before change the oil every 4000 miles and use the Mobil 1 Motorsport. Have your engine flushed out 3 or 4 times this will clean out the OIL pump giving you better flow round the engine.

Re bush the whole suspension and you will enjoy driving for another 100,000 miles.

PS: Don't drive a Tamora you will only want to have one.
