Fuel pipe Flex or copper?

Hi, making fuel pipes for new chassis, is there any reason why the bit of pipe that goes between the outrigger and front rear wishbone adjuster on the nearside can't be made in copper?
The old one seems to join near where it goes underneath which seems strange?

It will probably be awkward as this is the outlet from the fuel filter isnt it?
Dont see a reason to not do it in copper though if you can make a neat job of it without kinking them.
