MG on Diesel Bandwagon

Will the use of oil burners threaten MG's sexy new image?

I think it is important that MG stay in the diesel market; after all Mercedes and BMW have diesel powered cars.

i think the name 'rover' should be ditched 100% MG sounds much more sporty, and 'rover' just sounds dull, and all the 'MG-Xpower' stuff is great but they need to ditch there old name, and i totaly agree that MG should do some diesels, as jeremy said, merc and BMW have so why not?

But perhaps Viperman Rover sounds less dull to the target audience. MGRover have to tread a very careful line if they are not to drag MG, as a brand name, back into the sad seventies.

There were some good names in the ARG war chest but I suspect BMW have plundered the best of them.

If we are getting picky about names then Dodge has to be one of the most dodgy (inadvertent pun) ones, associated in UK with perhaps the grimmest of all delivery vans...far cry from the Viper. Perhaps they should call themselves Vindscreen, I like the sound of a Vindscreen Viper.
