DVLA proof of manufacturing date

Hi all,

I'm trying to get my 190 Evo II registered that I bought in Portugal last year. To cut a long story short the DVLA has rejected my Portuguese registration document (no idea why!) saying I need to get proof of manufactured date from Mercedes themselves.

Does anyone know who I could contact to get a letter like this?

The car is 25 years old so it doesn't need one, but are you saying that will have the information?
