Only if you want it fixing smile

If you want if free, pop along to the retailer who sold it to you, and they can post it off to the folks who will fix it.

We're you expecting a courier collection for something shoebox sized? You could ask for a collect plus type label, see if they have something like that.

Tomtom did exactly that when my Rider 2 broke, they posted me the box and the details to have UPS pick it up.

Agree about going back to the retailer if not though.

Yes.

Some places give you free returns but that's not a requirement. Afterall, if you were to take it to the place where you bought it there is the cost of travel, possibly parking etc, and your time, to consider.

The thing here is, in the olden days when we had to go to a shop, no shop would refund the cost of fuel and parking incurred in returning the faulty merchandise.

It's a requirement if it's faulty.

Well that link someone posted makes what you say clear, but contradicts what I posted.

So, as this is PH, on the internet, we must now have a tedious series of posts spanning the next 3-4 pages where we argue this minor point where even though clear evidence has been posted which gives its full backing to one side of the matter.

At this point one of us will then have to stoop down to the threat of frozen sausages and/or red bull cans before the other one mentions Godwin.

(I hadn't realised the CRA was updated since the last time I had to return a faulty item)

It hasn't, it only came into effect in 2015.
It replaced the Sale of Goods Act and a couple of other related bits of legislation.

The short answer is..
If its faulty,they pay,if its not,you pay.
