Hi everyone,

I've got a budget of £50k (could stretch further if it makes sense) and I'm looking for something that will work as an everyday car, is fun to drive, is comfortable on long journeys (space isn't that important, but a two seater is probably not my preferred option) and is reasonably economical.

I'm planning on touring both the UK in 2017 and then maybe France and Spain, so reliability is key too.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Great problem to have, Jaguar XKR would be my choice.

When it comes to GT's then the first one that comes to mind is the 4.7 Maserati Granturismo then you just need to decide MC Shift or ZF Auto.

I had one of these & I can't fault the car in fact it's on my list to own again but with some Novitec additions this time.

The above is the heart choice, below is the sensible head choice but it's still a good GT car (my dad's on his second.

Although it's the sensible choice there is a wrinkle with these & that is a subjective one as both my dad & I prefer the previous generation version with the 6.2 V8 rather than the 5.5 BiTiurbo but it's down to personal preference.

CL63 (5.5 BiTurbo)

6.2

Or you could try to find the less sensible CL65.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I never even thought about Maserati, so that's a new avenue of investigation. I do like the CL63 and the Jaguar too. I think this is going to be a difficult choice.

A very difficult one but not a bad decision to make.

The Maserati was just lovely I never tired of coming out of the house & it catching my eye & then you'd start it(with the Larini exhaust) just epic maintenance wise the services were between £800-1200.00 I never had a failure.

The CL's have been bulletproof for my dad with servicing being the only cost during the last 5 years.
