W204 Alarm sounder(C350)

W204 apparently has a common problem with the batteries in the alarm sounder leaking and causing false alarms. Hopefully that is why mine keeps triggering without cause. Several threads elsewhere show how to remove the sounder which is behind a panel in the wheel arch. However they mention drivers side but the pictures suggest a left hand drive car. Are they always on the left or always on the drivers side ?
