and it´s pretty hot, at least today.

couple of things I´ve noticed.
been ordering taxi´s all week. Longest wait was 1 min 43 seconds, shortest was 13 seconds. That´s from putting the phone down to taxi turning corner.

Tenerife is riddles with speed humps. They don´t slow down taxi drivers, they just thump over them, as do other drivers. I´ve seen at least 5 instances when scooters have nearly been thrown off by them

All traffic stop for zebra crossings, no exceptions. Traffic does not stop for someone stepping into the road. If you´re clumsy, you´ll get walloped. People generally respect that cars hurt if they hit you.

Cars don´t travel particularly slowly here.

most cars, even new ones have at least 1 dint or scratch on them.

Drivers use their horns a lot (car horns!) and there isn´t any road rage that I´ve seen.

not seen any speed cameras.

Drivers respect the police.

Police don´t respect numpties, and have a zero tollerence attitude to people who disrespect them.

there isn´t any ´calm down please sir´. It´s guy is thrown to the floor, warrant card comes out. If he gets up before he´s allowed, he´s thrown down and restrained. If abuse or anger starts, CS, batons, guns come out. Any mates/egging on bystanders soon shut up and stand back I can tell you.

the beers cheap!

(as are the senoritas!)

happy days, and home tomorrow!

Fathers lived in the North of the island for 15 years, great you don't see too many brits up there now days, which is very pleasant.
I love the way everyone double and triple parks, no one gets heated about it, just beep your horn once and someone will clear their car out of the way. Very civilised, the temp never goes below 15 deg and its bloody cheap to eat/drink/smoke/live........why the feck am I still here .
