Hi, hoping someone can explain in simple terms.

I have a PS4, which has my master account and my sons sub-account.

I want to get PS plus which we've not had before. If I buy it on the master account, does that mean my son can download and play the games that come with PS+ On his sub account, and can we both play online from either account ?

Any restrictions between the master and sub-account access to PS+ content ?

Tried googling but there are loads of conflicting threads which I don't really understand !

No comments ? Can anyone confirm sub accounts have full access from main account PS plus on the same PS4 ?

If your account is the main account you're using to download games then you need to login to your PS account online and set your PS4 as the main device for that account (or something along those lines). Then your son will be able to play the games you download on it with his account.

This is how I do it. I have a US account I sometimes use to buy digital games and my PS4 is set as the US accounts main device, this allows my regular UK account to play those digital games.

Ok thanks. I think I did that when I set it up originally. Will go and check before buying the PS plus. I assume he can also play online through his account with the games we already have ?

I think he will need his own PS+ sub to play online but he can play any of your master accounts digital games online no problem.

This is where I get confused.

I'd like him to be able to sign in on his sub account and play the games we already have. I'd also like to play some of them online separately from the master account when I go on the PS4.

OK just to close this one out for any future reference.

I have a main account, my sons account is a sub account to this.

I have now got PS plus and he can indeed play the games I buy on the main account from his account. They are restricted for suitable age content and this is something that is set when you set up the sub-account initially (you have to enter DOB when it's set-up).
