I'm 37 and work in a job which isn't very mentally challenging.

I usually park in a multi storey car park with 11 floors on. Last week, I totally forgot where I had parked. I had to get the lift to the top floor and work my way down trying to spot my car. This worried me quite a bit.

Long term memory is fine. I'm scared I'm losing it!

Anything you can recommend to ensure my memory doesn't degrade any further? Memory games? Reading?

Pretty much what you've suggested. Reading definitely helps with many things, especially not losing your mind.

Do the crossword, read a book or the newspaper, have a go at the sudoku over your lunch break or something

There's probably loads of such tips but I suspect the main thing is just keep active. I had a similar thing to you a few weeks back, stood at the checkout with my weekly shop, completely forgot my PIN so had to use my credit card.

Happens to us all from time to time. Don't worry too much.

I used to know a great trick for improving your memory but I'll be damned if I can remember it now.

sorry

Brain Training on Nintendo systems definitely helps this.

Also, may just be an ageing thing, however, had any blood tests recently? Low vitamin B12 and folic acid levels may affect memory.
