I was showing my son a few videos of the Spitfire and noticed one titled 'fatal flaw of the Spitfire' which piqued my interest (regarding the engine cutting out in negative g manoeuvres )

Our local Wetherspoons is called after this lady - and features Spitfire and RAF motifs throughout the building. Even the door handles are based on the Spitfire's control column and gun button -
The device was not really referred to as the "Tilly Orifice". Any histories I've read say it was jokingly called "Mrs Shilling's Orifice". people were much more polite in those days

It's quite common.The Wetherspoons in Hastings is called "The Logie Baird". Apparently Baird conducted some of his early TV experiments when living in digs in Hastings.
